Apart from my academic research, I've spent the last several years writing about the science and political economy of global carbon market. That has included:

• investigating the empty promises of using the blockchain to revolutize carbon markets;
• documenting the unwillingness of the market to properly insure forest-backed offset projects that inevitably burn;
• highlighting structual problems that incentivize market participants to turn a blind eye to the existence of low-quality offsets.

Much of this work has involved working with journalists at outlets like ProPublica, National Geographic, and the LA Times to explore the inner workings of the market.
